Privacy Policy

outbuilt collects very little, because there is very little to collect. No accounts, no profiles, no ad trackers. One analytics tool, disclosed below. This page describes exactly what is stored and why.

What we collect

The URL or X @handle you submit, together with public metadata fetched from it (title, description, favicon). This information is displayed publicly on the board; that is the product.

The amounts paid toward each listing, which determine rank and are shown publicly as building height.

A count of outbound clicks on each listing. The count is a number, not a record of who clicked.

Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested pages), kept briefly for security and debugging, as with nearly every website.

What we do not collect

There are no user accounts, so there are no names, emails, or passwords stored by outbuilt. There are no advertising cookies and nothing is sold to ad networks. The one exception to “no analytics” is Microsoft Clarity, described below.

Analytics

outbuilt uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site: session replays, heatmaps, and interaction data such as clicks and scrolls. This helps the operator see what is confusing or broken. Clarity may set cookies to do its job.

How Microsoft handles that data is described in the Microsoft privacy statement.

Payment data

Payments are processed entirely by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Your card details, billing name, and billing address go to Dodo Payments, not to outbuilt. The operator only learns that a payment for a given listing succeeded and for what amount. See the Dodo Payments privacy policy for how they handle that data.

Outbound clicks

Clicking a listing routes through outbuilt so the click can be counted, then sends you to the listed site with utm_source=outbuilt appended to the URL. The destination site can see that the visit came from outbuilt. outbuilt does not follow you after you leave.

Retention and sharing

Listings, paid amounts, and click counts are retained for as long as the board exists, because they are the board. Server logs are retained only briefly and then discarded.

The operator does not sell data, does not share it with advertisers, and discloses it only if legally required to do so.

Contact

Privacy questions can be sent to the operator, Prasenjit Nayak, at prasen.nayak@hotmail.com.
